A two-day Research Methodology Workshop was conducted by the Research Department, Institute of Medicine (IOM), Tribhuvan University, on 20–21 August 2026 (2083/05/04–2083/05/05). Faculty participants represented Universal College of Medical Sciences, Nepal Army Institute of Health Sciences, Janamaitri Foundation Institute of Health Sciences, Maharajgunj Nursing Campus, Pokhara Nursing Campus, Ayurveda Campus, Birgunj Nursing Campus, and Biratnagar Nursing Campus.

The workshop aimed to strengthen research capacity among faculty members from various constituent and affiliated colleges of the IOM. A broad range of research methodology topics was covered, supported by interactive discussions and active participant engagement throughout the sessions. The Dean of the Institute of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mohan Raj Sharma, highlighted the growing need for medical education research. He emphasized the importance of strengthening faculty research skills along with improvement in medical education methods.

Participants appreciated the overall program and suggested extending it to a three-day course. Some also recommended organizing similar workshops regularly for affiliated colleges, where opportunities for research training are comparatively limited.

Overall, the workshop was well received and considered valuable for promoting a stronger research culture across participating institutions.
